FAQs
Which class/workshop should I start with?
Our beginner classes and workshops are all appropriate for an introduction to pottery. However, some wheel students find that they are better prepared for success (and learn faster) if they have taken a handbuilding class first. Handbuilding provides an excellent opportunity to get a “feel” for the clay.
Do I need a membership?
You do not need a membership to register for a class. All of our classes include numerous hours of practice time throughout the week during our regular business hours (listed on our Calendar as “Open Studio for Students”). Once you’ve completed at least one 5-week class series, you are eligible to purchase a monthly membership.
What do I need to bring with me?
We supply all of the necessary tools, aprons, clay, etc. Please bring a good attitude, trimmed fingernails and a hair tie. Remember, you’re going to play in the mud, so wear something comfortable that you don’t mind getting a little dirty.
Where should I park?
We do not have on-site parking available for students, so please find a parking spot on the street or in one of the several public parkades nearby.
Can I make up a class that I missed?
Subject to instructor availability, a private class can be booked with one of our instructors.
What if I use up all the clay I was given for my class?
You will receive 8 lbs of clay when you start your class series. Keen students who use up all of their clay may purchase additional clay for $5/lb during our Open Studio for Students time.
